Showing Up and Giving Back
Our primary mission for the day was to deliver the contributions raised during our recent Back to School Drive. Thanks to the generosity of the Jenga365 community, we were able to support the initiative with resources collected prior to the event. Seeing the donations go directly to the beneficiaries reminded us that small, consistent acts of kindness can collectively create a massive impact.
The Concept of “Social Networth”
Between the matches, the sidelines offered a perfect venue for dialogue. We spent the day engaging with players and other stakeholders, not just about rugby tactics but also about life strategy.
A key theme of our conversations was “Social Net Worth”. We emphasised to the young players that while their physical fitness is important, the network they build today, their social capital, is what will sustain them tomorrow. Mentorship is the bridge that connects their current talent to future opportunities, and Jenga365 is here to help build that bridge.
A Surprise on the Touchline
On a personal level, the day took an exciting turn when I was asked to step in as a coach for the Nondies Academy.
Transitioning from spectator to coach was an exhilarating experience. Guiding the young talents, managing their energy, and helping them structure their play gave me a front-row seat to the potential that lies within our age-grade structures. It was a practical reminder of why mentorship matters, sometimes all a young person needs is a calm voice on the sideline believing in them.
Looking Ahead: Scaling Up
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Afri-Impact Sports Academy (AISA) for organising such a purposeful tournament and for inviting us to be part of the fold.
As we reflect on the success of the weekend, our eyes are set firmly on the future. 2026 is our year of consistency. We are committed to refining our delivery, improving our logistics, and scaling up our impact. We want to ensure that engagements like this aren’t one-off events but part of a sustained rhythm of development.
